How to Wrap up the Year Well With Your Email Marketing

The end of the year is in sight. During this time, a lot of businesses begin to tone down their email marketing as they close off the year. However, this time of year can be a powerful marketing opportunity, especially as you won’t have thousands of emails to compete with. If you’re stuck on ideas on how to wrap up your email marketing well, some things you can incorporate into your strategy include: 


Highlight your top moments of the year 

The year can go by quickly, meaning customers may forget about some of the successes and achievements that your business experienced. So, it’s great to recap and show them everything you achieved, especially if social work, ethical changes or positive environmental impacts were made. You can do this by re-directing them to blogs that cover your work for the year. Or, you can create a summary photo gallery in an email. Regardless, reminding your customers what you do at your business, particularly the behind-the-scenes, can put you back on their radar for 2024. 


Countdown the year together 

Welcoming the New Year is exciting. So, how about welcoming it with your customers? Maybe you can drop an exciting new deal at 12:00 am on the 1st of January that people MUST be the first to find out about. Or, perhaps you’re planning a new product release. Counting these moments down with your customers can keep them engaged and glued to their inbox. Plus, it can help drive some fast orders for 2024. 

Be sure to let them know that something is coming, though! Otherwise, they may be partying too hard to notice your email before it’s too late. 


Say thank you to your customers 

Your customers love a sale and promotion. We all do! But, they also love those intimate moments that brands create. Remember to take the time to pause on the sales and thank your customers this year. After all, they have helped your business grow. We recommend a plain text email or one with a basic design, as these can feel the most raw and thoughtful. 

Be sure to use personalisation, too. This can add that extra layer of depth, which makes them feel you are speaking directly to them.



Get them excited for next year 

If you don’t have something launching soon, there’s no need to worry! You can still get your customers excited for next year by telling them what is to come. It may be something specific, such as new flavours of your best-selling product. Or, it could be a bit more ominous, such as “We look forward to growing with you in 2024.” Whichever approach you choose, creating the feeling that next year is going to be bigger and better is a great way to maintain relevance in the minds of your customers.
