Up Your Email Game: Make it dynamic

Your brand is your baby, so when it comes to email marketing, you are likely very careful about how you design, write and send your emails. But is being too careful limiting your ability to personalise your emails and bring in those extra sales?

If you aren’t familiar with the dynamic product block feature in Klaviyo, or you’re hesitant to use it, trust us when we say you are missing out! What makes these blocks so useful? We’ve detailed it below:

Show your audience what’s new

If you’re creating a campaign about your newest releases, you will definitely have the freedom to pick and choose the products you want to include! Have you considered your flows, though?

Set-and-forget flows, such as a welcome series, may include products to inspire purchases. If you aren’t updating these every time you get new products in (which can be super time-consuming), your audience may miss out! The result? Potentially a new product release that doesn’t go 100% as planned.

By utilising dynamic product blocks in your flows, you can ensure the recommended products are automatically updated.

Did we mention that the dynamic product block will also update with your website to include new information and images? So, if you launch a new product before the lifestyle shots are ready, you don’t need to go in and manually change everything throughout all the flow emails again! Klaviyo will handle all that work for you.

Tell your customers what’s trending

Some customers will know what they want as soon as they land on your website, and others will need some inspiration. This is where recommended dynamic product blocks come in. Much like new products, you can do this manually for campaigns, however, in set-and-forget flows, you will need to make lengthy changes every time a product is no longer available or popular with your customers. Using recommended product blocks can, therefore, pre-populate emails with data based on what is selling best on your website within a given period, be it three days or thirty days.

Another bonus to this is that it always shows true data, meaning that you can ensure the product displayed as number one is well and truly your best-selling at that point in time. This is great for brands with seasonal items, such as a clothing company with summer and winter ranges, as it guarantees you’re always showcasing products that align with your customer's current spending habits.

Not to worry if you have products that you want to exclude from these product feeds, as this is all 100% possible!

Give them similar suggestions

Another often overlooked use for your customer feeds is creating specific product recommendations based on what a customer has purchased previously. You can achieve this by splitting feeds, such as your winback or post-purchase, into different streams based on what a customer has most recently purchased. From within this, you can create recommended product blocks and only include categories of products similar to what this customer has ordered in the past.

Returning to the example of a clothing store, if a customer has always purchased coats, you could show them the most recent coats and jackets. Whereas, if they have purchased a bit of everything, you can give them a larger list of recommendations.

Regardless of how you utilise and implement this tool, it can be effective in influencing customers to spend more, driving your eCommerce store to new heights.
