How to deal with Unengaged Subscribers and Lists

Keeping your content fresh and varied is super important for your email efforts, to ensure high subscriber engagement levels, but there will always be those who lose interest. Don't fret. We're here with some tips to help revive those absent audience members to get them coming back!

Effective Strategies for Dealing with Unengaged Subscribers and Lists:

1. Identify the unengaged profiles in your database and make sure you have a segment for this. Then, consider doing a 'Re-Engagement Campaign' where you could offer a more enticing discount or promo JUST for this segment. There is no need to offer the discount to everyone in your list. You're simply trying to re-gain attention to have those non-interested recipients opening up your emails again, and hopefully re-engaging.

2. Cleanse and remove! Regularly cleansing your email list by removing unengaged subscribers is crucial for maintaining a healthy and active list. Set criteria for identifying unengaged subscribers, such as lack of opens or clicks over a specific period. By removing inactive subscribers, you can improve the overall engagement rate of your list, increase deliverability, and ensure that your efforts are focused on an audience genuinely interested in your brand.

3. Consider creating a WinBack Flow. You can create a sequence of emails that are more personalised and tailored to this group of unengaged customers and customise the messaging to address the fact that they have been "missed" and you want to see them again! Lure them back by sharing what is new to your brand, or give them a special offer that they can't refuse. Having this automated for your brand will ensure that you are continually trying to reach this group of unengaged customers.

Keep in mind that it can cost up to 5 times MORE to get a new customer for your business than to retain an existing customer. So even if they have lost interest, it's important (and more cost-effective) to try to win them back! Go get 'em...
