Black Friday, Black Friday, Black Friday. It is on everyone's mind right now, and it gets closer with every blog we publish. We have taught early access strategies, how to adjust your flows, even last-minute launch tips, and that is still only the tip of the iceberg.
Now that we are in November, you may already be in the thick of it, especially if you launched early. You cannot necessarily pivot your whole strategy mid-promo if a better offer tickles your taste buds. But you can still make small email tweaks to keep your deal as alluring as possible. One way we love to do this is through user-generated content. Here is why.
UGC Doesn't Feel As Campaign-Heavy
Customers are probably already receiving hundreds of promo emails a day. Go on, count how many you have had today alone. Even if they are opening them all, these campaigns start to look the same, and your brand can blend into the crowd if you are not careful.
User-generated content feels a little different. Images are not so polished, content is not as clean-cut, and customers are more likely to see how your product can become part of their life.
When Should You Use It?
Firstly, mix UGC into your regular campaign and sales emails. Instead of campaign imagery, swap plain products for images of customers using them.
Ways to work it in
Send a whole user-generated content email between your sales-heavy sends, a reminder of why others already love your product. Think of it like the "why choose us" email in your welcome series, but reframed as why your best-sellers are the best pick during the discount window. Still mention your Black Friday offer, but lightly, at the start or end, so it feels like "here's why you'll love us" rather than a "buy now" demand.
