Do your customers know who you are?
As your business grows, it can be easy to begin slipping away from your customers. We get it, as you become busier, showing your face gets more and more difficult. But, how can you form connections (and we mean genuine connections) with your customers, if your buyers don’t really know the faces behind the brand they are purchasing from?
Regardless of how big or small your business becomes, creating connections can help your customers better associate themselves with your products, mission and vision. Above this, it can also allow them to visualise themselves using your products and services, as it makes your business more relatable.
So, if you’re looking to boost sales, profits or customer retention, getting your face and voice into more emails is key. How can you do this?
Create photos using your products or services
Most businesses were created because a business owner needed a solution to a problem. For example, waterproof mascara may have come about after a business owner had a messy experience in the rain.
While you know your business’s origins, we can guarantee that not all your customers will. So, taking snaps while using your products is essential. Why? Well, for starters, it will show that your product is fit for purpose. Plus, it can also help your database understand that your product truly is a solution to their needs.
Talk about your day
Not every email with you in it needs to be a hard sell. Sometimes, you just need to connect with your customers, who may, otherwise, go weeks (or months) without seeing your face. When you can’t think of an email idea for your next campaign, try speaking about what’s happening in your life. Perhaps a special celebration is coming up. Or maybe you just got back from holiday and wanted to share some pictures.
These small changes in the direction of your emails can make your business feel more human and create deeper customer resonation.
Share an experience
Thinking of doing a customer review email soon? How about flipping it on its head? Instead of just sending an email with a bunch of customer reviews on your email template, write an email about the experience you had with a customer. Speak about why they came to you or shopped from you. Talk about the challenges they were seeking to overcome. Then, tell your customers how you did this. Keep it short and sweet, but at the same time, add enough depth to encourage others to trust your brand.
Remember to write these emails in the first person and add plenty of emotive language to pull on the heartstrings that little more.
Say hello from time to time
Sometimes, showing your face as a business owner doesn’t need to require hours of planning. You could create an email block in your account that has your name, face and email signature on it. Adding this to campaigns doesn’t take long, but makes your emails feel all the more personal. It almost feels like you are writing the email or saying hello, even if you didn’t. But trust us, your customers will remember this (especially if you do so consistently).
